The importance of music in Sonic

It’s no mistake that a song reveal is being used to hype fans, as music has been an important part of the franchise’s identity since its beginning. To celebrate Sonic‘s musical history, Sega has a Sonic Symphony World Tour kicking off this month that features an orchestra recreating some of the beloved soundtracks from throughout the decades.

The soundtrack is in good hands, as the main composer is Jun Senoue. Franchise fans will be familiar with this name, as he has worked on the music of a few series titles including Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic Heroes. He’ll be assisted by Sonic Mania composer Tee Lopes, who has excitedly assured fans that Superstars will feature an even better soundtrack.

Sonic Superstars is scheduled to release on October 17 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
