Sega and M2 have gotten to talking more about the new features coming to the Sega Ages re-release of Columns II. As with the other wonderful ports to Switch, this version of the game is shaping up to be the definitive release of the game. Not only are new modes getting added to the mix, but the entire original Columns will be included as a bonus.

The new features include different difficulty options, an online versus mode, and a special option to rotate player two’s screen 180 degrees for tabletop mode. An Endless Columns present allows you to simulate Tetris’ marathon mode and the aforementioned original game gives you a glimpse at where this oft-forgotten series first began.

There’s still no concrete release date, but Columns II should be hitting the Japanese eShop in the near future. It’ll likely come shortly after for the US.
