See for yourself: Bon Jovi in Final Fantasy commercials

Recommended Videos

Remember when we told you that American rocker Jon Bon Jovi would have his music in Japanese commercials for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.  Well, it’s one thing to know that, but it’s another thing to actually see it in action.

It’s pretty damned weird. Just like in any other Japanese commercial that features popular music, the name of the artist pops up on screen. But instead of being the Japanese names I’m used to, it says “Bon Jovi.”

Watch on as Bon Jovi music accompanies Wii videogame footage. Only in Japan, right? It’s actually a promotion for his music, an upcoming single named “We Weren’t Born to Follow.”

Japan gets Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers on November 9th on the Wii. Bon Jovi? I don’t know that they’ll ever “get” Bon Jovi.
