Section 8 will be at the UK-based Multiplay M Festival and its sort of a big deal. For the first time in the history of mankind, non-media affiliated Europeans will be allowed to play the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the sci-fi FPS on their own turf.
The M Festival is an event that takes place between August 7th and 9th. It’s essentially a LAN event where players can take part in a massive tournament sponsored by, of course, Section 8. Check out the official Web site for the deets.
According to the official release, this won’t be the last time Europeans will be able to get their hands on the title, either. The European beta for the PC version of Section 8 will be available three days before the game enters into open beta.
By the way, North Americans interesting in checking out the game early can put themselves on the waiting list for closed beta over at FilePlanet.
Section 8 is still slated for a September release and we’ll be very sad pandas if it is slapped with a delay until 2010 like every other Q4 game.
