Above, you can check out a second gameplay trailer for 2K Sports’ NBA 2K9 (if you missed the first one, it’s right here). It features a wide assortment of NBA teams (though my hometown Knicks only get a second or two). The middle of the trailer shows Denver Nuggets point guard Allen Iverson getting repeatedly repelled as he goes up for a lay-in, and the latter half focuses on Los Angeles Clippers point guard Baron Davis doing all kinds of crazy things.
If you’d like to give the game a try, a demo went up on the PlayStation Store this past Thursday and on Xbox Live Marketplace yesterday. It features a four-minute quarter between the 2008 NBA Finals combatants, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics (the demo takes place on the Celtics’ home turf, the TD Banknorth Garden). Download it and check it out, so you can decide for yourself if you want to pick up NBA 2K9, NBA Live 09, or NBA 09 The Inside (demos of the other two games have been up for a while now).
NBA 2K9 will be out shortly — there’s just over a week until its October 7th release on the PS3, 360, and PS2 — and if you want to find out more, head over to its official Web site.
[Editor’s note: I apologize for the quality of the video. I tried converting it twice on the same computer, and a third time on a different computer, and it still came out with that weird periodic flickering and pixelation. -Samit]
