If there is an MMO on the horizon that even my MMO disliking ass could get excited for it’s definitely Star Wars: The Old Republic. Not only is it BioWare developed, but it’s Star Wars. As if you weren’t sold on that alone it was announced at Comic-Con that the game will be doing something that the last three films (not chronologically) did not and that is to actually have wars in the stars. Yes, The Old Republic will have space combat.

How will that work? I’m glad you asked, because I’ve pasted this quote about it for you: “Space combat is an alternative gameplay experience to the primary game of storytelling, questing, and ground-based combat. In space combat, you fly your personal ship to various ‘hot spots’ on your galaxy map. From there, you will blast your way through asteroid fields, enemy fighters, frigates, destroyers, and a variety of other obstacles that will evoke memories of some of the great Star Wars space battles.”

Sounds interesting… I think. I’m not really 100 percent sure on it, but as we get more details it will probably sound more awesome. Hell, even if it is just a strange sidequest thing, it should be a great added bonus.
