Activision is kicking off its Comic Con showing tonight by announcing the final dimension in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. And it’s… the Ultimate universe! (If you hadn’t ready the headline… surprise!)

If you’re not familiar with Ultimate Spider-Man, it’s Marvel’s retelling of the popular hero’s origins, focusing on a high school-aged Peter Parker. Worried it might be too similar to “Amazing,” a dimension already announced? Don’t worry — this dimension will be rendered entirely in cel-shading, and will wearing the black symbiote costume. The “Ultimate” universe has Spidey going head-on into battle, using symbiote-specific powers like spikes coming from his chest to take out baddies.

Dale’s checking out the game right now as we speak; expect more from him on Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions along with the rest of our Comic Con coverage.
