Say what? The new Darksiders is a Diablo-like spinoff

Darksiders Genesis

Well this is not how I was expecting the fourth Horseman to enter the Darksiders scene but it will have to do. While War, Death, and Fury have all gotten their proper action-adventure games focusing on themselves, the pistol-clad Strife hasn’t had his moment yet: until today.

Darksiders Genesis has been fully revealed, and it’s a…dungeon crawler spinoff? Featuring War and Strife, this romp sees the duo accepting a “new assignment” to “untangle” a demonic conspiracy. Evidently this will serve as a prequel of sorts, as spinoffs tend to do. I’m into it! This trend of isometric looter aperitifs like Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris/Guardian of Light is something I want to see continue.

Interestingly, the game is confirmed for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Google Stadia. We’ll probably be seeing this thing a whole lot more from today on, as Google is set to give us more concrete info on the cloud streaming service in just a few hours.
