Savor this album of Sega Genesis-styled jams

Vurgon by Ario is FM synth music for the discerning aficionado

Tuesday morning music madness gives props to the Sega Genesis! I will not rest until I convert all you SNES-loving heathens (I don’t really think you are heathens) into soldiers of the Genesis nation. The war rages on (no it doesn’t)!

Vurgon is the first completed album by Ario, who only started making tunes a mere six years ago. The seven-track chiptune production makes full use of FM synth, that magical quality of sound that made Genesis music so gosh-darn lovely. And with alien gibberish like “Glaustarr” and “Clankendrung” as song titles, Ario’s album could easily work as the soundtrack to a new 16-bit space shmup.
