Sega recently confirmed the arrival of competitive puzzle title Puyo Puyo eSports, currently preparing to launch in Japan on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in around a months’ time.

This has led many Western Puyo-heads to wondering whether this latest edition of the popular forward-planning title will see release on shores outside of its native Japan, affording them the opportunity to get in on the exciting – and amazingly fast-paced – blob-busting action.

Well, there appears to be new evidence that points to such a localisation being a reality. Accoridng to pro Puyo Puyo player “Tom” – who had the good fortune to check out the new game at the Tokyo Game Show this weekend, the new game’s Player Profile options allow you to enter your hometown as every prefecture in Japan, but also every state in the United States.

Of course, this is no guaranteed confirmation that Puyo Puyo eSports is definitely getting a worldwide release, but it for sure helps stoke the hype that the Puyo community will be able to join in the high-tier fun in the west. Should any confirmation be forthcoming from Sega, we will be sure to let you all know.

Puyo Puyo eSports launches in Japan, October 25, on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
