Rumortoid: Steven Spielberg wants to produce Halo movie

IESB is reporting that Steven Spielberg is in negotiations to develop a Halo movie. Spielberg was “blown away” by Stuart Beattie’s script for the Halo movie, which is based on the first novel in the Halo book series.

Hard to say if this is good news or not. I would have loved whatever Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp would have put out (have you seen the trailers for District 9?!) but not sure with Steven. Like Joystiq, Spielberg left a really bad taste in my mouth with the last Indiana Jones movie.

How do you feel about this if it turns out to be true? Think Steven can do a Halo movie justice?
