Apparently, the latest issue of Famitsu will reveal that a remake Resident Evil 2 is making its way to the Wii. The remake is said to incorporate a Resident Evil 4 camera view, “swordsman” enemies, and new plot elements. Despite Famitsu’s spectacular record of being accurate, the printing of this rumor has yet to be confirmed.
The information comes from a popular gaming message board in Japan, 2ch, where a poster claims to have the latest Famitsu. N-Europe is carrying his details about the camera, enemies, and story elements are said to arise from the issue. Joystiq is reporting that Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom, has said that this rumor “isn’t worth a comment.” I suppose that means it’s ridiculous, right?
Of course, Nintendo is no stranger to Resident Evil remakes. Resident Evil 4 came to the Wii in excellent shape, and the GameCube allowed the series to revive itself and thrive across the globe. The only problem is this rumor is not exactly on stable ground. I can post all sorts of crazy stuff on the Internet like the guy at 2ch.
Super Mario Galaxy for the Xbox 720, confirmed.
