You see, last summer I specifically asked Atlus if they’d consider bringing back some of the harder-to-find or unreleased Shin Megami Tensei games. They gave me a pretty standard response along the lines of “hopefully,” but I saw right through that — they had to be brinnging one of the Persona games back from the dead. I saw that look in their eyes.
I was hoping it would be the unreleased half of Persona 2, but I’d be more than happy with a re-release of the original title too. According to 1UP, a Hong Kong-based games magazine called GameWave is saying that the PS1 classic is coming to the PSP. They even have a date for a Japanese release: April 30, for 5,040 yen.
I think this rumor sounds pretty solid, and 1UP reminds that this same publication broke the news on other PSP titles like Disgaea 2 Portable and Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield. Of course, this does not promise that a US version is coming, but I know that Atlus likes to take care of us.
