I’ve often said it’ll be a case of “if” and not “when” on the subject of Apple getting into the game biz, and if recent “chatter” is to be believed, the home of the iPod may be looking towards acquiring Electronic Arts in order to make that happen.

This so-called “chatter” has been referenced by big-time analyst Guy Adami, who says he’s been hearing talk concerning a possible takeover of EA by Apple. Adami is considered kind of a big deal, not just some random jerkoff posting on a blog, so if he’s heard it, it’s doubtless in some high up sectors.

With EA one of the biggest forces in gaming, this would instantly put Apple in a prime position to become its dominaton of videogames. So far there has been no comment on this situation, but I imagine both companies would be keen to deny it right at this moment.

How would you feel about Apple getting into the industry by taking the reigns of EA? Breath of fresh air, or a terrifying merger of corporate superpowers?
