Prices slashed! It looks like Nintendo plans to move consoles and games this year, leading into next year when they launch their new console, codenamed Project Cafe. Retail sources tell Kotaku that Nintendo will drop the price of the Wii to $149 this month. This price and timing matches reports from earlier in the year. What’s new is that this drop will conincide with a new budget Wii game line called Wii Select.
Wii Select will kick off with $19.99 versions of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princes, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Mario Sluggers. Wii Sports will also join the line-up, to be sold separately. The same sources say that Mario Kart Wii will now be bundled with the Wii console, and will be sold for $149 starting May 15th.
Someone’s blowing all the fun for Nintendo before E3!
