The last time anybody officially talked about a potential LittleBigPlanet 2, Media Molecule told the world that it simply wasn’t happening. However, according to that hive of PS3 rumors, Official PlayStation Magazine, the user-created videogame is getting a “full sequel” sometime in the future.
Media Molecule once stated that it would “never” want to work on LittleBigPlanet 2, claiming that a sequel would be “the most counterproductive thing you could do.” If this rumor is true, then it wasn’t all that counterproductive, was it? One would be amazed at how easily a developer can skirt around his principles when money’s involved, so let’s not allow prior statements to discredit this rumor.
A BBC article once claimed that a sequel was already being developed, but didn’t go into any more details. One would assume that if a sequel is indeed on the way, E3 would be the place to show it. Don’t be surprised if we hear some big LBP news before this summer is over.
