Rumor: Harmonix working on dancing game for Natal

Recommended Videos

Rock Band 3‘s already been confirmed as Harmonix’s next project, but is it the only one? Probably not, and if Game Informer‘s sources are correct, the developer may also be working on a Natal-based dancing game.

True or not, you don’t need to like the idea, but it might be the best move for the developer. I can’t explain the worldwide popularity of Ubisoft’s Just Dance, but its success has proven one thing: people want to dance. Harmonix recently applied for licenses for a number of danceable tracks, including Cascada’s “Evacuate the Dance Floor,” Timbaland’s “The Way I Are,” and… an M.O.P. track? I guess it’s danceable, although I’ve never seen either of the dudes from M.O.P. tear up the dance floor.

I’ve pinged Harmonix for comment, but my guess is they will have none. For now. But Microsoft’s Project Natal reveal is only 10 days away, on Sunday, June 13. We’ll keep you posted.
