Rumor: Apocalyptic MotorStorm 3 images appear

It hasn’t officially been revealed, but you know it and I know — MotorStorm 3 exists.

Today, French PlayStation 3 site PS3 Gen has what appears to be the first images of the game, off-screen photos taken from a a possible demo. The images show an post-apocalyptic San Francisco, with buildings crumbling, and fires raging in the distance. This is start contrast to previous MotorStorm titles which, well… didn’t have any of this stuff going on.

Hot on the heels of the release of Disney’s Split/Second, it’s hard not to make comparisons to Black Rock’s over-the-top racer. But how all of this plays into the game (if this is indeed the game at all), remains to be seen — will these environments have a significant impact on gameplay (fallen buildings changing the track path, for instance), or is this urban apocalypse simply the game’s backdrop?

Whether or not these shots are legit is unclear, but from what I’m hearing, I’m fairly certain we’ll be seeing MotorStorm 3 at E3. Killzone 3, MotorStorm 3, inFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2… that’s a lot of sequels, Sony. You will be bringing The Last Guardian, right? Right?!
