Guitar Hero is no more and DJ Hero has been iced, but it doesn’t seem like Activision is intent on completely slaughtering its cash cow. According to a rumor from Kotaku, the publisher is getting ready to milk the music genre from a different angle, and bring Dance Hero to the world.
The rumor mill states that Activision has begun work on the following songs, none of which sound like anything I’d even remotely enjoy:
“2012” by Jay Sean (feat Nicki Minaj)
“Out Of Space” by The Prodigy.
“The Way I Are” by Timbaland (feat Keri Hilson and D.O.E.)
“Take Over Control” by Afrojack (feat Evan Simon)
Seriously, no Rush? No ELO? Not even a little Peter Gabriel? That’s how I get my groove on!
So far, Activision has said nothing to confirm the game, which looks primed to compete with Harmonix’s Dance Central. I guess we’ll just have to sit tight and see if this gossip seed bears musical fruit. Or … something.
