Why would you hire with experiencing working on the Wii if you weren’t making a Wii game? That’s a good question to ask Rockstar North, who recently posted a job listing looking for a Physics Programmer with experience working with Nintendo’s console.
As G4 points out, the developer is also looking for a Junior Physics Programmer with experience for all major consoles, including the PlayStation Portable, the Nintendo DS, and mobile platforms. Rockstar most recently released Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on the PSP, DS, and the iPhone; perhaps another GTA (or another franchise) could be making its way to the portable devices soon.
Right now we know Rockstar is working on at least two titles — Max Payne 3 and the long-overdue L.A. Noire. Neither of those games are for the Wii or any handhelds that we know of.
