Rock Band 3 drops October 26, pre-order details announced

October 26, that’s the day you should take off from work if you want to rock out in your pajamas (or underwear) while playing Rock Band 3 all day long. Harmonix and MTV Games have announced the late-October date as the day the game will hit shelves for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo DS.

In addition, they’ve confirmed a whole slew of pre-order details. Reserve at GameStop get three free song downloads, as previously reported (“Burning Down The House” by Talking Heads; “My Own Summer” by Deftones; and “Blue Monday” by New Order). Pre-order from Amazon, get access to an exclusive in-game guitar. Hit up Walmart.com for your pre-order, get a $10 eGift card.

So there you have it. It’s likely that the three songs will hit the Rock Band Music Store at some point, and will run you about $1.99 a piece. The $10 gift card you can use to buy cat food or something, and the in-game guitar might be a hot commodity as I can’t think of any other way Harmonix and MTV would make that available. Make your decisions wisely. (Hint: Your cats are meowing at you because they’re hungry.)
