Robo-Garriott keeps those inefficient flesh-bags in line

Ultima grandmaster Richard Garriott is Big Brother — no matter where you go, no matter what you do, he’s always watching, contemplating, judging.

At Garriott’s social and mobile game company Portalarium in Austin, Texas, he lives up to his “Lord British” moniker with a drone that effectively grants him omnipresence. He can keep tabs on everyone and everything even while chilling back in his New York home. The robot, which sports a hilarious Pringles mustache, can be controlled remotely; through it, Garriott can engage in direct conversation with his staff.

The $15,000 killbot was originally purchased to allow Garriott’s mother to attend his wedding in France without making her leave her home in Las Vegas. Afterwards, it was repurposed to lock his employees under the constant threat of laser death. How deliciously evil!
