Everything new in the Fisch Blue Moon Update

The Moon looks lovely this evening.

The Blue Moon Update is a much-needed update that many Fisch players (including us) have been craving for. Even though it’s a small weekend update, you can enjoy some of these benefits for almost an entire week, and some are here to stay even after the event is over. Here’s Everything new in the Fisch Blue Moon Update.

We can’t even begin to explain how much we all needed another Double XP event. Ever since the 2X XP Update, the devs haven’t given us a way to gain levels faster, and yet they expected us to gain another 1,500 levels in the Second Sea.

Here’s the best part: this event lasts for almost 7 days! Yes, now is the time to raise those levels, and maybe even get that No-Life Rod or even the Seraphic Rod. Of course, if you already have those, you may want to level past that, but, as you’ll soon see, that may not be the best course of action…

Blue Moon Event

Want even more XP? The Blue Moon Event is here. During in-game Winter, the Blue Moon event may trigger. You’ll know it when the sky turns blue. We actually managed to witness one in Spring, but that was just the devs testing out if it worked.

During the event, you can visit two locations:

  • Snowcap Island in the First Sea
  • Luchgrove in the Second Sea

In either of these, look for a door with a Moon Symbol and enter to find a fishing pool. Each Sea has its own Blue Moon bestiary which you can fill, but what you’re really after here are the Moon Idols.

If you manage to fish out a Moon Idol, you get a +50% XP buff for a whopping 24h. Now, that’s good value. Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait for winter to take full advantage of this.

Additionally, when Winter hits, you should also buy a bunch of Blue Moon Totems. You can buy these at Lushgrove during a Clear Winter Night.

Nine small Quests in the First and Second Sea

Throughout the First and the Second Sea, you may come across nine NPCs with a quest (usually next to the piers). Normally, they need you to find an item, catch a certain fish, or catch a few fish in a limited amount of time; easy stuff. In total, there are nine of these NPCs, and you should go out of your way to do each of their quests because the rewards are pretty good (like Kraken Tentacle Bait).

AFK Mines now gives XP

You know the Mine next to Moosewood that many don’t even know about? Yeah, the AFK Mines. The devs finally made it so you gain XP while you’re AFK in the mine, along with Luck and those rare items. For some reason, we weren’t able to enter the mines and check for ourselves (probably a bug), but the devs will likely fix this issue soon, and we’ll let you know exactly how much you can get from this.

Balancing and Quality of Life Tweaks

We can’t say exactly what this means, but we can certainly quote the developers:

  • “We’ve heard your feedback — smoother sailing ahead”
  • “The winds of change are coming to Fisch, and we’re listening”

Corporate talk or are the Fisch devs actually listening? If they are, then you may not want to get too attached to the Second Sea. During the last community poll on the official Fisch Discord, the majority of players voted that the Second Sea should be removed entirely… twice! We can’t say if this is actually going to happen, so only time will tell. As of writing this, the Second Sea is still in the game.
