Rob Riggle plays a decent Frank West, but Dead Rising: Watchtower looks bad

Real, real bad

We were promised a direct-to-internet Dead Rising movie, and that’s exactly what we’re getting.

Even with my expectations set accordingly, I’m coming off this trailer for Dead Rising: Watchtower feeling disappointed. Rob Riggle (The Daily Show, 21 Jump Street) as photojournalist Frank West sounded fine to me, but he won’t get much screen time if this clip is any indication.

An axe-wielding clown psycho, “combo weapons,” and a Servbot t-shirt are nice nods to the source material, granted, but it’s going to take more than for me to sit through a full-length movie. It’ll debut exclusively on Crackle on March 27, 2015 if morbid curiosity gets the better of you.
