Mr. Arin “Soon-to-be-reality-show-star” Hanson, aka Egoraptor, is a smart man. A very, very, very smart man. He’s so smart, he made a 20-minute video explaining why Mega Man X is both the bee’s knees and the cat’s pajamas at the same time. In the words of Harley Morenstein: “F*ckin’ smart!”
This is the second installment of Egoraptor’s Sequelitis series, the first of which weighed the original Castlevania against Simon’s Quest. While that episode focused on Simon’s Quest‘s many flaws, this one is all about how Mega Man X vastly improved upon the franchise formula and became his personal favorite game of all time. Additionally, in discussing the game’s strengths, he demonstrates the importance of instructing the player through gameplay and subtle feedback rather than through obtuse tutorials and on-screen prompts.
He also punches Roll multiple times in the face, which is friggin’ hilarious.
