Ridiculously awesome Audiosurf coming to Steam for a ridiculously low $9.95

If you didn’t get a chance to try out Audiosurf when it was in open beta a few weeks ago, allow me to sum it up in one word: Wow.

This forthcoming PC title allows you to “ride” your own music, creating a gameplay experience on the fly that not only makes sense, but is extremely fun and incredibly addictive. The game is a unique combination of the music/rhythm, puzzle, and racing genre’s, and its unique and innovative concept has garnered it the front-runner position for the upcoming Independent Games Festival.

Valve has announced today that the title will be available on Steam starting February 15. It’s now available for pre-purchase, and those that jump on the bandwagon early will get a 10% off of the ridiculous regular price of $9.95. In addition to shipping with the soundtrack for Valve’s The Orange Box, the game will also be the first title to make use of the recently announced Steamworks, Valve’s answer to Xbox LIVE-like achievements and community profiles.

Bottom line, if you own a PC, you owe it to yourself to check out Audiosurf. Not convinced? Check out the dozens of user-created YouTube clips of the game, which should have you amped enough to part with a measly ten dollars.
