Respawn working on ‘non Titanfall’ project

Also some stuff about Titanfall on Steam

Earlier this year Respawn Entertainment graced the world with the arrival of Titanfall, a flawed but impressive first-person shooter full of high speed vertical traversal and super cool giant robot suits. Today brings the news that yes there is probably more Titanfall coming from Respawn, but the studio is also working on something new.

According to an interview with Respawn CEO Vince Zampella over on Game Informer, Respawn has split into two teams, with the new smaller team working on something “non Titanfall.” All we know at the moment about this smaller team is that it includes Stig Asmussen, formerly development head on God of War 3 at Sony Santa Monica.

“There is a second team. Non-Titanfall related… We have another team in pre-production that’s smaller, just starting up. But it’s a much smaller group at this point.”

Zampella also let a few other little bits of info out during the interview. Apparently future Respawn games may come to Steam, but they’re unlikely to be there on day one. Also, don’t expect much more news from Respawn during 2015, as the teams will be spending the year “heads down, back to work.”
