Resident Evil 7 is getting a ‘Gold Edition,’ with a brand new DLC

‘End of Zoe’

Capcom managed to get its fanbase back after the over-the-top and trying RE6 with the horror-focused Resident Evil 7. The only hitch it seems is regarding DLC, as the long heralded free “Not a Hero” DLC was scheduled to arrive shortly after launch, only to be delayed indefinitely. Now, we have a little more information on that front, alongside of a GOTY edition announcement.

Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil 7: Gold Edition is in the works for release in Japan on December 24, and it’ll come with all of the DLC so far, as well as a new “End of Zoe” DLC and the aforementioned Not a Hero. The former will run you roughly 1,500 yen piecemeal, and the latter is still free, and will launch on December 14 in the same region.

With its multiple modes, Resident Evil 7 is the type of game that lends itself to extra playthroughs, so I’ll probably be running through it again before December, and once again after the add-on drop. We can also assume this is confirmed for the west too, but we’ve reached out to Capcom for comment.
