Resident Evil 5 gets a comic book (how racist)

As 2008 wraps up, we look to get our unrealistic hopes up for 2009’s list of hot games, with Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 leading the charge. Promotion for the title is ramping up and to celebrate, we bring you news that a comic book based on Chris Redfield’s racist adventures is on its way. In fact, there are two comics, both coming from DC WildStorm.

First up is the official comic book prequel to RE5. This 32-page miniseries will show how Chris made his prejudiced way to Africa and why he hates black people so much. Debuting on March 11 and running at $3.99 an issue, this sounds like it might make for an interesting purchase. Resident Evil fans are sure to lap it up.

The prequel will be joined by a spin-off comic, Fire & Ice. This is a 256-page limited edition that will run to only 5,000 copies. Following the adventures of S.T.A.R.S Charlie Team as they combat the “Zombie Virus”, Fire & Ice will go on sale March 25 for $24.99.

Do want? I still remember how ridiculous the old Resident Evil comic books were. In fact, I’d almost demand these be just as rubbish to get a sale from me.
