Report: PS4 in November, ‘most’ online features will cost

One final leak before announcement?

Ahead of Sony’s PlayStation conference, unnamed sources are back with another scoop before the big reveal tomorrow. A source has told Kotaku that two PlayStation 4 models are in the pipeline — one priced at $429, the other at $529 — and that launch will be happening this November, at least in the United States. It sounds as if pricing is still up in the air to some extent and won’t be talked about this week.

The source also shared some new photographs of the new controller, which should look familiar, and said that “most” of the console’s online features will require a paid subscription. Reportedly, PlayStation Plus is being phased out or transitioned into something called “PlayStation World.” One has to wonder if online multiplayer will finally be put behind a paywall.

Other rumored details include the ability to remotely control the system via mobile device and the inclusion of a PlayStation Eye with every PS4. Much of this sounds plausible, and I can only hope that, true or false, we at least know what’s on the level for most of this info after tomorrow’s event.
