Reggie is hyped about E3, but can we ever trust him again?

To say that Nintendo was tight-lipped at GDC about games coming out after the first quarter this year is about as much of an understatement as saying their press conference at last year’s E3 was only somewhat of a let down. They wouldn’t budge an inch on anything except Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and all we got of that was a trailer. Plenty of people tried to ply information out of Reggie, but nothing much came of it except for a quote from X-Play, where he says that E3 is going to be exciting.

“What I can tell you is, it’s coming. That’s what E3 is for. We’ll be showcasing the back-half of the marketing calender and all of the content that we’ll be launching at that point. What I can tell you is be there. We’ll have some great content to share,” he said, most likely while giving an arrogant smile.

Can we really trust this man and his opinion on what constitutes a good E3 show anymore? After last year’s cavalcade of casual and Reggie’s claim that it was all for the hardcore, I find it hard to put my faith in him. Still, other than Mario & Luigi RPG 3 and Sin and Punishment 2, we know very little about what Nintendo has in store for us down the road. Hopefully they learned their lessons last year and this year will be huge.
