Really, here’s a Castlevania puzzle game for iPhone

Here’s one you probably didn’t see coming, unless you’ve already read the headline — Konami is releasing a Castlevania puzzle game for iPod Touch and iPhone.

Called Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night, the game looks like a crazy mix of Puzzle Quest and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. The title puts players in role of Alucard in the title’s story mode; alternately, players can play as or against other characters, ripped directly from Symphony of the Night.

The whole thing kind of sounds totally awesome, doesn’t it? No word on pricing or availability outside of “soon,” but we’ll keep you posted.
