Real talk: 14 minutes of Monday Night Combat footage

I feel like this is how marketing for games should be done. Instead of a trailer packed full of quick vertical slices, just give me unedited, lengthy footage of someone playing the game, preferably with narration to provide the necessary context for what’s being shown.

Take a cue from Uber Entertainment — let the product sell itself. This video for Monday Night Combat does exactly that. It’s the developers playing a multiplayer match for 14 minutes; nothing more, nothing less.

Having watched the entire clip, I now have a much greater sense of what the game is all about, and more importantly, if it’s right for me. Shouldn’t that be the point? Monday Night Combat debuts on Xbox LIVE Arcade next Wednesday for $15.
