Rage behind the scenes: The sound and art

Recommended Videos

Hey guys, heads up: The world of Rage isn’t a place you’d want to take your parents on vacation. I know it’s tempting with the game’s myriad mutants and bandits, but you must resist. Meanwhile, in their newest behind the scenes trailer, the guys at id talk sound and art design.

It’s a well known fact that id have mastered the art of making guns feel perfect when you squeeze the trigger. This is due in large part to the sound of the shot and it looks like Rage is no exception. However, sound design has improved dramatically since id’s last tour de force and modern shooters are no strangers to fantastic sounding weaponry. It will definitely be interesting to see if and how they progress that art within the full game. Oh, and John Goodman voices the first character you meet in-game; yeah, fantastic.
