Developer Granzella has announced that it will launch the crowdfunding campaign for shmup sequel R-Type Final2 on June 3 at 09:00 PT / 11:00 ET. The campaign is expected to run for just a scant week, in hopes of raising the cash for a new take on the classic sci-fi shooter.
“We are promoting this project to bring out the latest title of the beloved side-scrolling shooter R-Type series with our overwhelming passion using state-of-the-art technology,” said Granzella in a statement. R-Type Final2 was first announced earlier this year, confusing fans by dropping its teaser trail on April Fools’ Day.
The new game will feature multiple vessels each with their own customisation options, alongside fully rebuilt stages and new weaponry, modes, and difficulty settings. Granzella is hoping to release R-Type Final2 on PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
