Quarrel: A word game for XBLA that looks … good?

It’s gotten a lot better in recent months, but for a while there, you couldn’t search through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace without seeing an assortment of lackluster Xbox LIVE Arcade word games creep onto your screen. With this in mind, I was more than cautious upon seeing what was up with Quarrel.

Quarrel is coming to us from digital toy boutique Denki, and surprisingly enough, the game is looking quite decent. From what I can gather based on this debut trailer, it’s sorta like a mash-up between Scrabble and … Risk? Yeah, I guess Risk.

The intention is to get Quarrel out sometime this year on XBLA, although it sounds like Denki wants to bring the game to other platforms as well. Of course, no specific ones were named.
