Puyo Puyo Champions is heading West soon. Sega has announced that the artist formerly known as Puyo Puyo eSports will be making its Western debut on May 7, 2019, for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. You’ll be able to grab the puzzler for a cheap $9.99 on your respective digital platform of choice.

As with the previous entry in the series (Puyo Puyo Tetris), this new edition will feature competitive online multiplayer, a tournament mode, the ultra-popular “Fever” mode, and multiple selectable characters. Multiple rulesets based on different Puyo Puyo titles will be present (with Tsu and Fever getting name-dropped) and an auto-save replay system will capture your best combos without the need to stop the action.

While I’m still utterly terrible at Puyo Puyo, I might give this entry a spin. I’ve been digging my time with Puyo Puyo Tetris, recently, and am always up for colorful puzzle games. The budget pricing is certainly enticing, which could land this in “impulse buy” territory.
