Put your one true love back together in A.N.N.E

Metroidvania and space shooting goodness

As someone who never got into non-linear Castlevania games and had never finished a Metroid, I’ve recently been really turned on by metroidvania games. Aroused, even. A.N.N.E takes the genre a step further and mixes it with a space shooter.

It centers around a couple of cute robots, one being torn apart with their parts spread about a planet, while the other looks for their lost love. Luckily you can play as the “male” or “female” robot, so there is no damsel in distress unless you want there to be, you sicko.

I got the opportunity to chat it up with Mo, the creator of A.N.N.E, about how the game is progressing since he has been working on it for some time. I was impressed from the first time I saw it on Kickstarter in 2013, and fell in love with it when I played an early alpha build.

Cute graphics, fun gameplay, and a killer soundtrack — you could say I’m pretty solid when I think about A.N.N.E.
