Your personal data was compromised, but don’t panic! Sony was doing just fine. The company proudly boasted that PS3 sales actually rose during the PlayStation Network downtime, promising that its system is “stronger than ever” at retail.

“The PS3 platform is stronger than ever, and with the launch of Infamous 2, we continue to show our commitment to delivering the best and freshest content line-up available to our consumers,” said communications director Patrick Seybold. “At E3 last week, we saw first-hand the consumer excitement for 3D, PlayStation Move and our first party franchise titles that will continue to drive the brand.”

Sales of the PS3 have clambered up 14% year-over-year, and that was all while the Black Box o’ Blu-ray was suffering one of the biggest PR disasters witnessed in videogame history. That’s pretty impressive!
