Despite Microsoft claiming that the Xbox 360 is more successful than the PS3 in Europe, some new numbers have come in that show the PlayStation 3 absolutely shredding its bitter rival apart. If the experts are to be believed, the PS3 is beating the 360 by three to one, with the PS3 Slim and price cut giving it a ludicrous boost
According to GfK Chart Track, the PS3 sales figures increased eleven times over, with the system even managing to beat the Wii and DS Lite. The PS3’s success comes at a time when the Xbox 360 has improved sales of its own, enjoying a 29% increase. Even that’s not enough to topple the Black Box o’ Blu-ray.
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Elite undercut the PS3 by £50 in the UK, but it seems that consumers have not been swayed by such chicanery. Sony has always had a firm foothold in Europe, so it’s no surprise that the price cut has seen the PS3 do well. Even so, success on this level is pretty amazing, and it has to be said that the PS3 deserves a round of applause this week.
