PS3 drops ‘It only does everything’ for ‘long live play’

Sony has dropped its “It only does everything” slogan in favor of a brand new moniker that focuses on the PS3 as a gaming device. From now on, the PlayStation motto is “Long live play.” How exciting!

Sony says the new campaign slogan has been “designed to celebrate gamers from all walks of life and recognize you for making us who we are today.” Fictional Sony representative Kevin Butler will still feature in the commercials, the first of which was revealed today. The bit with the Jack Tretton photo is quite funny.

So what do you think? Is this a more suitable phrase? I certainly think so. The PS3 can’t do Firmware updates that don’t piss me off, so the old slogan wasn’t that truthful.
