PS2 Sega shooter Gungrave is becoming a live action movie

Recommended Videos

This is not something I expected to see today. A name I’ve not heard in years, Gungrave, has apparently been licensed to Convergence Entertainment in order to make a live action movie. Originally a PS2 game released in 2002, Gungrave took the form of a third-person shooter from the chaps at Sega.

Gungrave existed as an anime series as well, running from 2002 to 2004. Things have been quiet in Gungrave country for the past five years, however, making for quite an odd bit of news indeed. Convergence is predicting that the Gungrave movie will cost between $30 million and $35 million to make, although word on a possible launch is missing.

For reference, these guys are also behind the upcoming King of Fighters movie. I guess we’ll have to wait and see that one for an indication of Gungrave‘s quality.

Seriously though, Gungrave?
