PS2 games coming to PSN next month (in Japan)

Recommended Videos

This is what I’ve always wanted Sony to do. There are tons of great PS2 games out there that are sitting and rotting. Why not re-release them digitally for the PS3?

They’re doing exactly that in Japan, starting July 25. The PSN Game Archives will be expanded to include PlayStation 2 games, kicking off with five titles:

  • Resident Evil Code: Veronica
  • Kessen
  • Shin Contra
  • Dragon Force
  • Siren

FFFF! Dragon Force?! Kessen?! These are some of my favorite games! Andriasang reports that these PS2 re-releases will only be playable on the PS3. Sony says that new releases will come once a month after the July 25 launch. Future titles include, Dead or Alive 2 Hard Core, Castlevania, Dynamite Dekka (Die-Hard Arcade), Gunstar Heroes Treasure Box, and Dark Cloud

The best part? The prices are nice, ranging from 800 to 1,500 yen, or $10 to $20 a game.

Sony, HURRY UP and bring this program here.
