Project Diva f gives the Vita a big boost

The PlayStation Vita received a shot in the arm over in its homeland this week, thanks to everybody’s favorite green-haired girl-thing. Hatsune Miku Project Diva f debuted for the handheld this week, causing the Vita to stop the chart with 50,070 units sold.

The 3DS XL came in second with 44,951, followed by the 3DS at 29,342. PS3 followed with 12,433, then the PSP at 10,266.

Unsurprisingly, Project Diva also topped the software charts with 159,592 retail sales.

While this doesn’t mean the PS Vita is on easy street, it’s further evidence that big games sell systems. That’s evidence we don’t need … but it seems Sony could do with the advice.
