Software sales for the PlayStation Vita launch have been revealed, bringing news that the system’s twenty launch games were able to shift a combined 300,000 copies over the course of two days.

The Vita itself sold roughly 325,000 units at launch, which means that 0.92 games were bought for every system. This is slightly less than the 3DS’ 0.95, but considering the Vita has a far superior launch library (and sold less systems), one could have expected better. The PSP’s launch attach rate was 1.06.

This said, however, Media Create only tracks retail sales, not digital. With digital versions being cheaper, it is highly possible that many more games shifted via the PlayStation Network. Sony would need to release those figures, but Sony doesn’t like doing that.

All told, a number of Vita games were able to chart at retail in Japan. Hot Shot Golf is the most popular, charting in the software top fifty at number seven. Uncharted: Golden Abyss charted at eight, while Dynasty Warriors NEXT was the next popular at eighteen. A total of ten Vita games charted, sprinkled from eighth place all the way to fiftieth with Shinobido 2.
