PS Plus members get PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap early

PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap, the not-sequel to the popular not-racing PlayStation Network game, will be ready for download on August 24. If you own the original PixelJunk Racers, it’s a free download; otherwise, there’s a $6.99 cover charge.

However, if you are one of the fabled PlayStation Plus subscribers, access to 2nd Lap will be granted a whole two weeks ahead of time — and you get a nice 25% off discount. To quickly sum up what’s new, there’s: Trophies, ghosts (the ones found in racing games, not the kind that get busted), a global leaderboard, and tweaks to the difficulty level.

I never got around to downloading Racers, myself, and it sounds like I’m not alone, either. Here’s our chance to play the game the way it was meant to be played.
