Sony has confirmed that PlayStation Move (currently known as “the Time Crisis controller”) shifted over a million units since launch, and production has been upped to meet demand. According to Jack Tretton, the company is “absolutely maxed” as retailers sell out across the nation.Â
“We had to go back and increase production twice, we’re absolutely maxed out right now,” says SCEA bigwig Tretton.Â
Despite Sony’s boasting, analysts remain unimpressed, with one stating that units haven’t been selling out in stores, and another saying that the sales for Move have been good, but not amazing. Frankly, that’s what a million sales for such a hyped product feels like to me. That’s not exceptional for such a big product, and if stores are selling out, Sony never shipped enough in the first place.Â
Not that I’ve seen a store that didn’t have plenty of them. Quite the opposite, actually.
