PS Move only supports Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition

If you thought Capcom would do you a solid and allow your regular version of Resident Evil 5 to work with PlayStation Move, then you’re a very trusting boy. Sony would like to remind you that waggle will be coming to the Gold Edition only. 

This issue was briefly mentioned during E3 but not much. It was easy to miss, so make sure that you’ve got the right Resident Evil for your needs!

“If you already own a copy of Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition for your PS3, you’ll be able to download a free patch close to the launch of the PlayStation Move (September 19th in North America) to enable the new motion-control scheme,” explains Sony’s Sid Shuman. 

“This will only work with RE5 copies labeled “Gold Edition” — the original version of RE5 won’t be receiving the patch, for technical reasons.”

I didn’t realize “Capcom wants you to buy the same game twice” was a “technical” issue, but fair enough. In any case, if you want to shoot Africans in the face like a total racist and you need to feel like you’re aiming the gun yourself, then you’ll need that Gold Edition.
