Prototype comic hits news stands

Haven’t been in your local comic book shop in a while? Then you probably missed the news that Prototype has a comic book, and that the first in the six part mini-series is out for all to enjoy. The comic launched this past week and is full of illustrated panels and word bubbles — I assume. To tell the truth I’m not even sure where my nearest comic book store is or if news stands even carry them anymore. I’m a bad nerd, I know.

For those of you who still partake in the wonderful medium of comic books, the story follows some New York City detectives who are on the track of a serial killer. Most likely this killer is Prototype‘s anti-hero, Alex Mercer, as he struggles to find himself in the events leading up to the game. Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray penned the story with art from Darick Robertson.

What about it? Are you intrigued enough by Prototype‘s story to get the comic books?
