Prepare for some fun in the sun with Fortnite’s summer event

14 Days of Summer begins today

I’m reliably informed that it’s summer, despite what I’m seeing outside of my window right now. At least the video game world isn’t beholden to the whims of weather, which means the sun can beat down 24/7 on the gun-toting, wall-building Fortnite universe during its brand new event.

14 Days of Summer, which begins today on all platforms, will bring fun and games to Battle Royale, Save the World and Creative modes. Every day for the next two weeks will see a cycle of Limited Time modes (including that summer staple: the waterballoon fight), along with daily challenges and free rewards. If that’s not enough, a classic weapon will be pulled out of the vaults for each 24-hour period. Check out the video below to learn nothing at all.

Save the World fans can earn summer tickets in order to bag themselves all sorts of holiday-themed goodies. Complete quests and challenges to “Help Homebase host the hottest summer party around”. 14 summer tickets will win you an explosive new weapon. Meanwhile, Creative Mode will host a new featured island every day.

For more details on the summer’s Limited Time Modes and other daily content, check out the official Fortnite blog right here. It looks like there’s going to be more than enough on offer to keep players glued to the screens for the next couple of weeks. The outdoors is overrated anyway.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and iOS and Android devices.
